With the coming launch of the brand’s GEL-Lyte III “Ranru” Pack, ASICS Tiger revisits its Japanese heritage — specifically, the use of traditional boro textiles, which dates back to nineteenth-century rural Japan, when extending the wear-life of essential garments was a necessity. Over generations, small pieces of scrap fabric would be sewn in to reinforce wear and tear, until the patches became more prominent than the original fabric. The practice is highlighted in the Peacoat and Indigo Blue colourways of the upcoming GEL-Lyte III, both featuring patchwork denim uppers with visible stitching and ticked laces. Clean white midsoles and a gum rubber outsole complete the retro look and feel.

Expect the “Ranru” pack to launch June 17th through select ASICS Tiger retailers.
