Patta’s 2017 summer lookbook went in a new direction – literally. Their last seven editorials were shot were around European cities but this time around, art directors Ace Dia and Violette Esmeralda spiced things up by taking the brand to the Caribbean island of Curaçao. Their inspiration was to vividly capture the culture, where they then came across a Curaçao native, Gilleam Trapenberg who helped bring this vision to life.

Currently finishing up his degree in photography, Trapenberg’s main goal is to capture the strong influence of masculinity in Carribean culture. While the project of the Patta Lookbook was to zero in on the feminist of the culture, Trapenberg’s vision and artwork harmonized with the idea. The result? 100% perfection.
